Cheryl Tan

Senior Associate

Cheryl graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the Singapore Management University and is a practicing Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Cheryl’s main areas of practice include civil and family litigation. She is experienced in handling various matters in the High Court of Singapore, including applications for summary judgments, striking out and setting aside judgments. She has also assisted with court-directed mediations to help parties reach amicable resolutions.

Cheryl also has had a wealth of experience in various family matters, including contested divorces, family violence and maintenance matters. To complete the repertoire, Cheryl had assisted in a wide range of criminal matters, such as, criminal trials, Magistrate Appeals and plead-guilty mentions for matters relating to cheating, drug-related offences and Road Traffic Act offences.

Being in court can be a daunting and intimidating experience. As a legal practitioner, Cheryl believes that her role is to walk alongside her client and bring clarity. She also believes in partnering her clients to understand their concerns so that she can provide solutions that fit the client’s needs.

Outside of practice, Cheryl enjoys spending time with the youths in her church. In a world which demands that we become many things, she believes that it is impertinent that we stand with the next generation as they discover their identity and find their place in this chaos.
